Transformatiematrices

Een aantal transformaties van een punt zijn in matrixnotatie te schrijven, bijvoorbeeld spiegeling: A'=T.A met T=[-1,0;0,1].
Deze groep noemt men lineaire transformaties.

Hoe noem je een verschuiving? A'=A+T met T=[a;b] Is dat een affiene transformatie? Kan je een verschuiving een transformatiematrix noemen?

Op onderstaande site staat voldoende informatie om al jouw vragen te beantwoorden. Een translatie (verschuiving) is inderdaad een affiene transformatie, doch niet lineair!

"An affine transformation is any transformation that preserves collinearity (i.e., all points lying on a line initially still lie on a line after transformation) and ratios of distances (e.g., the midpoint of a line segment remains the midpoint after transformation)."
