Druk x uit in y:

\eqalign{y + 6 = \frac{{x + y}} {{x - y}}}

Eerst kruislings vermenigvuldigen en de haakjes wegwerken:

\eqalign{ & (x - y)(y + 6) = x + y \cr & xy + 6x - y^2 - 6y = x + y \cr}

Dan alle termen met x links en de rest rechts:

xy + 5x = y^2 + 7y

Dan x buiten haakjes halen en delen:

\eqalign{ & x(y + 5) = y^2 + 7y \cr & x = \frac{{y^2 + 7y}} {{y + 5}} \cr}
