De driehoek van Pascal door Pascal zelf

Ik wil graag weten op welke wijze de driehoek wordt gedefineerd door Pascal zelf. Ik heb dit voor een heel belangrijke presentatie nodig en ik kan het nergens vinden.

Tja... bij de links kan je onder het kopje geschiedenis biografieën vinden van wiskundigen. Als je daar even bij Blaise Pascal kijkt kan je er wel iets over vinden. Er staat ondermeer:

Although Pascal was not the first to study the Pascal triangle, his work on the topic in Treatise on the Arithmetical Triangle was the most important on this topic and, through the work of Wallis, Pascal's work on the binomial coefficients was to lead Newton to his discovery of the general binomial theorem for fractional and negative powers.

De vraag is dan natuurlijk hoe ver je wilt gaan... zou je de 'Treatise on the Arithmetical Triangle' zelf willen inzien?
